This course covers the biological, psychological and social approaches to understanding suicide and self-harm. Risk factors are covered, along with the causes and prevalence of suicide. It also covers how to respond in an emergency including practical demonstrations of the appropriate response to finding someone who has tied a ligature.
This course is for Department of Adult Social Care and Public Health (DASCPH), local authority staff only.
