Event description
This full day awareness level course includes the signs and symptoms of Hoarding and covers some basic support strategies.

This course is for Department of Adult Social Care and Public Health (DASCPH), local authority staff only.
Training objectives
This course will:



  • Improve safeguarding outcomes through improved multi agency working

Learning outcomes
By the end of the course participants will:

1. Describe the nature of Hoarding Disorder, its manifestations / classification and who this may affect
2. Explain the potential impact of Hoarding and self-neglect on individuals, families and communities
3. Identify practical strategies to support individuals and the need for a multi-agency approach
4. Identify own role in referral and support and how to access appropriate multi agency involvement
5. Identify relevant policy and legal guidance and pathways that should be followed
6. Explain relevant Safeguarding protocols and processes
7. Describe ways to utilise the toolkit to ensure best practice approach
