This course is for all managers and principle social workers and aims to develop their skills in chairing safeguarding case conferences and safeguarding case conference reviews, in line with Richmond and Wandsworth's Inter Agency Policy and Procedures.
Training objectives
Learning outcomes
1.       Explain the London Multi Agency Safeguarding Policy and Relevant case law

2.       Describe the 4 stages of Safeguarding process

3.       Describe the key roles in the safeguarding process

4.       Analyse how the 6 six principles link to the role of SAM and Safeguarding process

5.       Describe ways to support enquiry officers to co-ordinate and scope length and breath of enquiry

6.       Describe ways to support Adult at Risk and Make Safeguarding Personal

7.       Describe how to analysis information/evidence and deliver a defensible decision

8.       Explain how to chair a Best Interest, Strategy Meeting and Case Conference with complexity

9.       Describe how to identify risk,

10.     Implement risk reduction and deliver a Safeguarding Plan

11.    Explain limits and responsibilities around information sharing

12.   Identify best practice principles in undertaking a critical review of the enquirers report and findings

13.   Identify where further support action is required in terms of Court of Protection or inherent jurisdiction and how to deal with dispute

14.   Explain the criteria for SAR and ways to use them to support learning
